The Bats to Cats declaration form is officially open!
The declaration form will be open and active September 1 through December 15, 2024, and February 1 through August 15, 2025 for students intending to transfer to Texas State University (TXST) in Fall 2025 and beyond. Bats to Cats is available for students intending to transfer to TXST in select majors.

Bats to Cats lets Riverbats start at ACC and seamlessly complete their degree as Texas State Bobcats. With Bats to Cats, you can start to build your Texas State community while still taking classes at ACC. Using the Bats to Cats program pathways, you can ensure all the classes you take at ACC will count toward your Texas State bachelor’s degree. Stay at ACC for an associate degree or transfer earlier, whatever works best for your educational goals!

Note: Students who enroll in TXST online degree programs are NOT eligible for assured merit awards beginning fall 2024.
Bats to Cats is available for students intending to transfer to TXST in the select majors listed above. Students pursuing other majors can transfer to TXST by meeting TXST admissions criteria. For information on ACC’s transfer resources and support, visit the ACC Transfer Services website.

Eligible students may apply for the Bats to Cats program beginning in fall 2024 with the intention of transferring to Texas State starting in fall 2025.

How Does Bats to Cats Work?
Bats to Cats can make your transfer simple and straightforward. Once you’re in, much of the process is automated. That means you get to focus on academics and building your ACC and TXST communities.
1. Enroll at ACC
Choose your degree program and start your classes. You need at least a 2.25 GPA to be eligible, so take advantage of all the student academic and other support services available!
Am I eligible for Bats to Cats?
- I am a high school graduate or I have earned a high school equivalency (GED).
- Enrolled at ACC in a major that is a qualified program for Bats to Cats transfer.
- Not a former Texas State student
Note: You must have at least 15 transferable credits before you can transfer to Texas State. ACC encourages all students to complete their associate degree before transferring, to maximize savings.
2. Complete the Declaration Form
Bats to Cats applications begin in the fall 2024 semester. You can apply now! You must complete the declaration form declaring your intent to participate in Bats to Cats. The declaration form will be open/active September 1 through December 15 and February 1 through August 15 for students intending to transfer to Texas State in fall 2025 and beyond.

Note: Students must select a target transfer term within three years of submitting the declaration form.
3. Next Steps
Once you’ve received your e-mail confirmation, your ACC advisor will be your guide on the Bats to Cats journey. Both ACC and Texas State will provide opportunities to meet with advisors and make sure that you’re on the right path for success.
ACC will routinely share program students’ academic records to Texas State each semester.
To update your personal information or request a change to your major or TXST start term, log in to the TXST Admissions Status Portal and complete the appropriate request form. If you have not yet created a password for the portal or have forgotten your password, click the “Forgot Password” link and follow the reset password instructions.
The semester before your transfer, Texas State will review your eligibility. Once confirmed, congratulations! you’re officially a Bobcat!
